After Years Of Pain And Torture, 138 Nigerians Return From Libya

After leaving Nigeria with the aim of trekking from Libya to Europe, 138 Nigerians were returned home yesterday from Libya.
The returnees were received on Tuesday by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who encouraged them to take advantage of the numerous changes in the country in their quest to re-establish themselves.In NEMA’s press statement, The South-West Zonal coordinator Mr. Suleiman Yakubu stated that the 138 returnees include: 65 ladies, 2 teenage girls, 5 infants, 64 men, and 2 teenage boys.
Hundreds of Nigerians are rescued yearly from Libya by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). The migrants are usually stranded in Libya after shuttling through different countries in their quest to trek from the Sahara desert to Europe.
