Yay! New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern Gives Birth To Her Baby Girl

The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern has given birth to her first child, a beautiful girl weighing 3.31kg.

The birth of her new baby makes Jacinda the second elected leader in modern history to give birth while in office.
The 37-year-old prime minister was admitted to a hospital in the city of Auckland early on Thursday morning, 4 days after her due date.

After the birth of her baby, Ms Ardern will take 6 weeks of maternity leave. She has now passed on her duties to Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters.
Confirming the birth of her child in a press statement, Ms Ardern said: “I’m sure we’re going through all of the emotions new parents go through, but at the same time feeling so grateful for all the kindness and best wishes from so many people. Thank you.”
