WHO Concludes That Ebola Is Not Yet a Global Emergency

3rd Ebola Case Hits Goma, Congo, Rwanda Shuts Shared Border

The World Health Organization has insisted that the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is not yet a global health emergency.
After an emergency meeting with health experts, the organization concluded that there was a “strong reason to believe that the outbreak can be brought under control”.

Over 40 people have been infected with the deadly virus and 25 deaths have been recorded. WHO summoned an emergency meeting after the virus was recorded in Mbandaka, a commercial city with a population of over one million people.
The city has been described severally as a transport hub on the River Congo, prompting fears that the virus could now spread to the capital city, Kinshasa and surrounding countries.
The WHO also insisted that there was no need for travel ban or trade restrictions on the disease because of the virus.
