Indonesians literally witnessed a live action movie on Wednesday as a gang of militants wielding samurai swords attacked a local police station, leaving the policemen with no other option than to kill them.
The daring four-man gang began the attack by ramming a car into the police headquarters in the town of Pekanbaru, after which, they charged at police operatives with their deadly swords.
Sadly, a police officer was killed in the attack while one of the militants was arrested. According to BBC, the deadly Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Wednesday’s attack comes after a series of suicide attacks carried out by families claimed the lives of over 13 people. Security agencies have blamed a local religious group, Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), for the attacks in the city of Surabaya.
