This German Striker Has Retired Because He Was Not Included In The World Cup Squad

Bayern Munich’s explosive striker, Sandro Wagner has retired from international duty after he was not included in Germany’s 27-man provisional squad for the World Cup tournament in Russia next month.
Speaking in an interview with a German daily, Wagner said: “I hereby resign immediately from the national team. For me, it is clear that I do not seem to fit with the coaching team in the way I am always open, honest and address things directly.”

I would lie if I said that I am not disappointed, the World Cup would have been a great thing. Of course, I can’t take it too seriously, because, as I have said many times before, there are far more important things in life besides football.”
Wagner was not the only German star excluded from the list. 2014 world cup winning goal scorer, Mario Gotze and Andre Schurrle was also not included in the list.
