Royal Wedding: Who Will Be Funding The Royal Wedding?

Though the cost of the royal wedding is still unknown, several British reports have announced that a huge chunk of the money will be generated from British taxpayers.

In a breakdown of the bill for the wedding, News.Au reported that the general cost of security will be paid for by Thames Valley Police. The host family will pay for all the private elements of the wedding, which includes: catering, flowers and food, Meghan’s dress all other in-house spendings. A popular British bridal website, Bridebook estimated the wedding to cost around £32 million.

Naturally, not every Briton will be happy to find out that their hard earned tax is being spent on a flamboyant wedding, and several public speakers are already criticizing the royal family for making a the wedding a matter of national importance.

Public speaker, Graham Smith accused the bridegroom of turning his wedding “into a public parade, costing the taxpayers millions.”
He said: “There is nothing inevitable about the public spending money on a royal wedding. If the royals don’t want to pay a big security bill they could have had a private wedding in Sandringham or Balmoral.”
