Power Move! Beyonce To Take Over Vogue’s September Issue Cover Production

New reports confirm that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has given Beyoncé unprecedented control over the cover of the upcoming September issue. Sources also confirm that Bey has hired the first black photographer to shoot a cover in the publication’s 126-year history. It has also been revealed that the ”publication is contractually obligated to give Beyoncé full control over the cover, the photos of her inside the magazine and the captions, which she has written herself and are in long-form.” This was made known by two sources familiar with the agreement between Vogue and Beyoncé.  A source who spoke with Huffpost revealed the reason Beyonce chose Tyler Mitchell to shoot the cover. ”The reason a 23-year-old black photographer is photographing Beyoncé for the cover of Vogue is that Beyoncé used her power and influence to get him that assignment.” Mitchell who has made a name for himself by shooting campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Givenchy told The New York Times; “I depict black people and people of color in a really real and pure way.” He continued; “There is an honest gaze to my photos.”  Photo Credit: Getty
