Paul Pogba Marks Ramadan With Pilgrimage To Mecca Ahead Of World Cup – See Pics!

Paul Pogba has made pilgrimage to Mecca as he celebrates the first phase of Ramadan with millions of muslims.

Pogba during his break from the end of season and the start of Fifa World Cup next month has retuned to Mecca for Umrah – an Arabic word that means “to visit a populated place.”   Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Ḥajj, which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar. “Only the person that comes here can understand the feeling,” the French midfielder said in a 30-second video posted on his Instagram page. He wore a simple robe, standing in front of the Kaaba in the video he adds, “Beautiful place. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. And the feeling, I cannot even explain to you.”

Pogba made a similar trip last year, when he arrived Mecca just days after United had won the Europa League with a victory over Ajax in the final. Pogba signed from Juventus for £89m in 2016, but had mixed performances towards the end of the 2017/18 season, with Jose Mourinho leaving the 25-year-old out of some key games. Pogba has been given a week off before joining the France squad as they prepare to surprise the world at Russia 2018. The French — World Cup winners in 1998 and finalists in 2006 — are in Group C with Denmark, Australia and Peru and kick off their campaign against the Australians on June 16.
