The government of Ukraine has been allegedly hit by a huge cyber attack, along with its central bank, energy firms and Metro network. In a statement, Ukrain’s central bank said “The National Bank of Ukraine has warned all banks about an external hacker attack on the websites of some Ukrainian banks which was carried out today”. Kiev airport and the Ukrainian state-run aircraft manufacturer Antonov have also been Immobilized due to what seemed like a cyber security incident.

Among the comments that followed the tweet, was that made by a spokesman for Ukraine’s Presidential Administration saying it was paying “a high level of attention” to the situation. A Danish transport and logistics company, Maersk said that “multiple sites and business units” had been shut down after a cyber attack.
