Liam Payne has opened up about his life with Cheryl, admitting: “We have our struggles.” The former One Direction singer’s relationship with the pop star has come under scrutiny in recent months.
Having kept quiet amid the initial reports, Liam has now decided to speak out and admitted they have recently been through a period of “tenseness”. In an interview with the ES Magazine, former One Direction star Liam said things are not “fine and dandy” between himself and his girlfriend – who is mum to his son Bear.
He said: “You know, we have our struggles – like of course I’m not gonna sit here and say that everything’s absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that’s what a relationship is. “But we go through them together as a family and that’s the most important thing for me.” Finally admitting that he and Cheryl have found themselves in the middle of a rocky patch, Liam added: “This part of our relationship was never not going to happen, there was always going to be a little bit of tenseness in the way we sort ourselves out, but tell me a relationship in the world that doesn’t go through a spot like that?”
