Flood Leaves Two People Dead In Abuja

The administration of the Federal Capital Territory has beckoned on all residents to be on alert for possibilities of flood as the region enters the peak periods of the rainy season.
The FCT minister, represented by the permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, made the appeal when he paid a condolence visit to the people of Karshi after a flood claimed the lives of two people on Saturday.
He advised residents to make contingency plans, due to the uncertainty that the disaster will not happen again. He said: “I have directed that our team of engineers should be dispatched to study the situation with a view to stemming future occurrence. From all indications this is a natural disaster. I am happy that our team is on ground for the search and rescue operations.”
