EFCC To Crackdown On Universities Operating Without License

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said it has concluded plans with the National Universities Commission, NUC, to crackdown on universities operating without a Federal Government license. This was disclosed by the Acting chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of a newspaper agency in Abuja.

Magu decried the activities of such unauthorised campuses and declared that the EFCC will partner with NUC to flush them out of the university system. In his statement he said, “I was with the NUC Executive Secretary to partner with them in sensitising students against corruption. We have agreed to set up a task force to crackdown on mushroom universities collecting money from parents. The number of universities has gone up; we will close them down. I have also appealed to NUC to sensitise the youths against corruption. We are targeting the youths.”
