Barcelona Go 40 Games Unbeaten In La Liga Despite Red Against Celta

Barcelona have become the first team to go 33 games unbeaten (25 wins, 8 draws, 0 defeats) from the start of a season in Spanish league, La Liga.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were rested in the first half of their game against Celta Vigo that ended 2-2, with Sergio Robert seeing red 11 minutes after he came in to replace Andres Gomes in the midfield.
Celta will be the only team to go unbeaten against Barcelona in La Liga this season (2 draws). Barcelona have beaten all their other 18 opponents at least once this campaign.

Ernesto Valverde’s men recently surpassed the 38-game unbeaten record set by Real Sociedad that extends back nearly three decades. The club’s record signing, Dembele and Alcacer scored the two goals as Barca set a new record with 40 games unbeaten against Celta. Next up is the Spanish Cup Final on Saturday against Sevilla at Atletico’s stadium.
