The Nigerian national team have been presented with the rare privilege of surpassing the record-making USA 94 benchmark in the forthcoming 2018 FIFA world cup in Russia.
The Nigerian national team have failed to live up to the international impression that was created by the classic USA 94 world cup team. Over the past 24 years, the Eagles have failed to make it past the knockout series of the tournament, as they crumbled at the group stage on most occasions.
The glorious giants of Africa have slumbered for over 20 years, leaving the task of displaying the glory of African football to the likes of Egypt, Cote d’ivoire and Ghana. The black stars of Ghana eventually reach the USA 94 landmark when they reached the quarter-final of the 2010 FIFA world cup in South Africa.
Gernot Rohr’s 23-man squad will have to find the perfect rhythm with each other as they hope to reawaken the spirit of the giant of Africa in the 2018 World Cup tournament.
