KOKO Knows: It Rains Diamonds On Jupiter And Saturn

Diamonds big enough to be worn by Cleopatra are raining down on Saturn and Jupiter, US scientists have calculated. The biggest diamonds would likely be about a centimetre in diameter – big enough to put on a ring and make any girl fall deeper in love. A total of 1,000 tonnes of diamonds fall per year, enough to adequately fill up 50 dump trucks! So if we were to live on Saturn or Jupiter, a typical flash flood would see us trying to navigate our way through a pile of glittering stones. What an easier life it would be for men! “The missus is pissed we didn’t call to check in all through the day? Not a problem. I would just grab a bucketload of diamonds on my way home. They are a girl’s best friend after all.”Photo Credit: Getty
