Kendrick Lamar Dumps Reebok To Sign Deal With Nike

A recent tweet published by Kendrick Lamar appears to suggest that he could of in fact just ended his endorsement deal with sportswear giant Reebok in place of what is assumed to be a more lucrative partnership with Nike. With his Twitter post bearing the caption, “Cortez. Since day one.” accompanied by a #teamnike hashtag, Kendrick reminds us that a change in partnership is perhaps long overdue.
Lamar has been seen rocking the old-school Cortez sneaker a few times over the past few months, most notably at the very end of the video for his track ‘ELEMENT’.

Other than Kendrick’s admiration of the Cortez, little is known about just what his partnership with Nike will entail. That said, this move still makes waves, the latest big news in the world of rapper-sneaker brand partnerships, with Jay-Z seemingly joining Puma, Big Sean leaving Adidas for Puma, and Young Thug in turn leaving Puma to join Adidas.Photo Credit: Getty
