Adidas Originals teamed up with popular entertainer Pharrell Williams for a Fall Winter 2017 tennis collection, inspired by the golden era of tennis. A statement released by adidas reads “The collection offers a complete wardrobe of retro-inspired pieces, from polos, cable knits, and track tops for men to skirts and dresses for women. On the court, it is a must-have polo shirt that serves the ultimate goal in tennis style, featuring engineered details and cool futuristic textures.”
It is not a surprise that Pharrell and adidas completely rethink another preppy staple: the cable-knit sweater. Here it is updated with engineered cuff and collar tipping and a subtle, tone-on-tone, inlaid logo pattern. (The women’s cable-knit vest reveals a cool and flirtatious peekaboo cut-out back). Seeking the perfect tennis dress? It has arrived in a fully-fashioned engineered knit with two-tone pleats and contrast rib details at waist.”
